I have been walking your neighborhoods for over four months to meet as many of you as I could to introduce myself, tell you why I am running to be your next HD 25 State Representative, and listen to your priorities. The election is only days away and I wanted to write to those of you whom I did not get to meet. Before you cast your vote, if you have any questions, please call me at home — 303.670.5854–and I will be happy to talk with you.
Regardless of political affiliation, our residents are fiscally, socially and environmentally responsible. I share those values and will fight to represent them in the legislature, just as I have been doing in the 16 years I have lived in our District–through my volunteer work in our schools, with our sports organizations, and by serving on many non-profit boards that support our communities. My seven years of service as an elected member of the Evergreen Park & Recreation District board have reinforced for me the need to listen to my constituents, ask the tough questions, and educate myself on the issues, so our tax dollars are put to the highest and best use.
I will do the same in representing you at the state legislature. We need a moderate, pragmatic and experienced voice to make sure our priorities are addressed. I am that voice! I will put my 30 years of public and private sector experience, from counseling disadvantaged youth, to providing legal and business advice to large and small companies, to serving as the CEO of a solar company that produced enough electricity to power the equivalent of 100,000 homes, to work for you.
I will work to ensure our public schools from pre-K through higher education will provide a high quality, nonpartisan and affordable education for our children and grandchildren. I will use my skills to work with companies to provide good paying jobs for all of us that will result in secure retirement opportunities. I will fight to keep our reproductive rights private based on our own personal choices. And I will make sure that we continue the efforts to protect our environment, our natural resources and our homes and communities from over-development and fire and floods.
I have broad support from Democrats, Republicans and Unaffiliated voters alike because the people who know me and my work know with certainty that I will be a fiscally, socially and environmentally responsible voice, that I will listen to your concerns and fight for you at the State Capitol.
I will be honored to be your State Representative and I ask for your vote.
